Happy Christmas to all and to all a happy Christmas! I was the first one up this morning. It was still slightly dark out. I turned on my Christmas lights and watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The Jim Carrey one, of course. My favorite Christmas movie. It's Christmas. So bye! :)

White House Down
Today was an interesting day filled with a plethora of activities. We woke up early to go into work to take a First Aid and CPR training course in order to get certified. It was actually pretty fun. We had a good teacher. Then I went back to the hotel with my sisters. We took a little "nap" before heading out to go shopping. Then I went to the movies with my mom and Gayle and watched White House Down. And Channing Tatum didn't die! So I was happy. It was so good! Loved it! After that my mom and I went shopping, eating, etc. Good times.

HAPPY 4th of JULY!!!
For Independence Day, I went independently to the movies and watched The Internship. Finally! The only theater that was still playing was the $5 theater. So that was pretty cool I guess. Haha. I loved that movie, obviously. Hello, Dylan O'Brien. Need I say more. Nope! How cool would it be to work at Google?! So cool! I seriously want one of those bikes right now. Look at them!
Okay. Picture time...
After all of that independent business of mine, I went home and my mom asked if we wanted to stay at a hotel. Sure! So we are having a girls weekend. Whoop whoop. My mom, my two sisters and I. Fun! We ate at California Pizza Kitchen for dinner. Peeked out for a minute to watch the fireworks.

Man of Steel
My phone has been acting up the past couple of days. Super bummer! And by "acting up," I mean that it won't turn on. It's doing its whole buzzy buzzy thing again. This happened like 6 months ago, and it fixed itself. So I'm kind of just praying that it fixes itself again. I don't want to spend money on a new phone. I like this one. I just want it to work...
After work, I watched Man of Steel with some of my friends. And oh my goodness! That movie was awesome!

Good Company
After church, my belly and back were very sore. We had a little "Baby Shower-ish Celebration" for someone at Taco Bell/Pizz Hut at the mall. But due to my soreness, I ate a Panda Bowl of Mixed Veggies and Mushroom Chicken. Yum. And I got a sweet fortune. My sister and I went straight home afterwards since I wasn't feeling too hot. I fell asleep. When I woke up, Tokyo Drift was starting on TV. So we watched it. Man, I forgot so much of that movie! Now I remember.
"Good company" always reminds me of that song Good Company from the movie Oliver and Company. I LOVE that song! It would always make me cry for some reason. Gosh! It's so stinkin' cute! That little girl!
You and me
Together we'll be
Forever you'll see
We two can be good company
You and me
Yes, together we two
Together, that's you
Forever with me
We'll always be good company
You and me
Together we'll be
Forever you'll see
We'll always be good company
You and me
Just wait and see
Goodnight Oliver

It's A Wonderful Weekend
Okay. Let me start off by saying that this weekend was one of the best weekends I've had in a long time. For many reasons. Which I will now share with you. I'll try to be quick while still detailed. It that's even possible for me.
Friday, May 31:
Teacher prep day for work. A lot of organizing and cleaning. Typical fun. I left early to take my sister to the doctor. I dropped her off and went to the bank and to the store. I had to buy some supplies for the weekend. Marshmallows to go with the graham crackers and chocolate I already had. Yes, S'mores, baby! I drove back to the doctor's office and waited in the waiting room for my sister. We were there for two hours. It was a little crazy weird. But I had a book. So it's all good. We went home. I showered and got everything I'd need for CAMPING and rushed back out. I got to our spot just as a bunch of people I knew were heading to the beach. Syd came over to my car and said I was just in time to play football. "But I have to set up my tent." "No you don't. You're sleeping in that big green tent with us." Sweet! So off to beach football I went. Haha, so much for showering... whatever. After that, Syd and I headed to the teen bible talk. My first bible talk as a leader! SO excited was I! It was so much fun. I met a lot of new teens there. Good times. Dinner, games, and a bible lesson. It was great. Then we headed back to the beach. Camping! There were a ton of people there. Some of us went to the beach and played Ninja. I've never played it before, but it was really fun. Everyone stands in a circle. Bow to your sensei. Ninja! And everyone strikes a "ninja pose." You go around the circle trying to get other people out by hitting their hand with your own. But while you thrust offensively, each person on either side of you has a defensive move. It can get fast and confusing. But I loved it. I play defensively. Haha. I was second place the first time, and winner the second. Yes, I believe defense is the way to go. Then we all hung out on the sand, looking up at the massive amount of stars floating in the sky above. It was beautiful. My goodness! I headed back to the campsite and sat in one of the open chairs in the circle. We talked for a while. I love talking to people. I really do. I like hearing what other people have to say. Even random things. Especially random things. Eventually I ended up in my tent and went to bed.
Saturday, June 1:
I woke up a little before 5:30 and crept out to watch the sunrise. I sat on the beach for over an hour. It was pretty sweet watching the entirety of the rise. I cannot recall the last time I spent that much time watching the sunrise, if ever. It was very peaceful. I tried and failed at going back to sleep. So when someone came up to me and asked to help crack eggs for breakfast, I happily said yes. I soon became the egg maker. We cracked 10 dozen eggs, scrambled them, and saltpeppercheesed them. Yum. Then the others cooked bacon. Lots and LOTS of bacon. Like an Epic Meal Time amount of bacon. It was nice talking with the other cooks. Everyone woke up and we all ate breakfast. Talking. Chilling. Hanging out. In the afternoon, we went to the beach. Some guys dug a big hole. Some of us played beach volleyball. It was fun. I'm pretty bad at volleyball, but somehow our team won both rounds. It was so hot. So obviously, we hit the water! So refreshing! Nice waves. Got out and played a couple games. One involved toilet paper. The other involved diapers. Nuff said. Lunch! Nap on the beach. I walked to the beach, made a little sand mound for my neck, lay down, closed my eyes, and fell asleep. It was delicious. I woke up to a cold, sprinkling drizzle. We ran back up to our tent. The other two went back to sleep, but I couldn't. It wasn't as cozy as the sand. Another friend came down. Hanging out. Prepared dinner. Ate. S'mores. Talking. Walking. Dancing. Scary stories. CAMPING.
Sunday, June 2:
Woke up a little later than the day before, but I was still able to watch the sunrise. Quick morning. Packed up everything. Headed out. I went home. Showered. Got ready for church. My mom dropped off Kulia to go babysit before heading to church. Kaleo and I rode with my nana to church. We had a guest speaker. It was an excellent message. Go! Go in the strength you have. Go in spite of fear. GO. His three children shared a little of their stories. Such a sweet family. Going away lunch for Stephanie at Bangkok Chef. Movie with my mom and sister. Now You See Me. It was so good! The whole time, my sister and I couldn't help but smile at "baby Franco." He's too cute. Haha. The movie was so cool. I love magic tricks. I love seeing how they are done. The plot was great. The acting was great. Very funny. A lot of twists along the way. Action. I can see how it'd be really cool in 3D. I dropped off my mom and sister at home and headed back out. I joined in on a Bible study with one of the teen girls. I'm very excited to get to know her more and watch her grow in the Lord.
So you see. I had a fabulous weekend. I did more than I wrote out here. I don't think you want to know every single thing I did. That would take hours. So that was the quick version, if you could call it that.

Jump! Jump! It's the Last Day of School!
For our last day of school, we brought in our bounce house. Yes, our bounce house. My family got it way back when, around the time of my sixteenth birthday, I believe, and we've had it ever since. It's pretty sweet. My dad brought it to school and set it up for us. The kids were so excited watching him set it up. I think that's the most patient they've ever been. Sitting on the sidewalk in anticipation, watching my dad put it together, and blow it up. It was so much fun. Obviously, I bounced as well. I can't believe the school year it over. That sure was fast. Fed-Ex speedy. We received many goodies today as well. Baked goods, leis, gift cards, etc. I ate so many sweets I thought I'd explode! Haha. Thankfully I did not.
After work, my mom, Gayle, Asya, and I went to see Fast & Furious 6. Obviously! Oh my goodness gracious! That was sooooooo good! I'm like, I need to go see that again. Now. Way to start off the Summer movies. Epic. It was pretty epic. If you have not seen it, do so now! It's a MUST MUST MUST watch. I'm not going to say anything because I don't want to give anything away. But it was hilarious. The driving was fast, furious, and flipping amazing. The fighting was boss. Ahh, I loved it! 5 out of 5 big fat shining stars! And because I am still processing. Processing. Processing. But what I do know, and am so excited to know, is that there will definitely be a 7! I mean, hello, after the credits. Gah! Tokyo Drift!!! It all started twelve years ago, back in 2001, with The Fast and the Furious, and it has grown and grown and grown. Faster. Faster. Faster. Let's go over the timeline shall we. For the record. The Fast and the Furious - 2001. 2 Fast 2 Furious - 2003. The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift - 2006. Fast & Furious - 2009. Fast Five - 2011. Fast & Furious 6 - 2013. And for future notice, Fast & Furious 7 - 2014. More specifically, July 11, 2014!! I can't even wait! It's only a little over a year away! How speedy is that!

Trek
Last night my mom and I went to the preschool. She did her graduation/accreditation work, and I did my scrapbooking. It was great fun. I love scrapbooking. Reminiscing on the memories. I surprisingly got a lot accomplished, and the cool air conditioning felt stupendous after such a hot day. We were there til after two in the morning.
Church was great, as usual. Afterwards, we went to lunch at Panda Express. Yum yum. Then we went to the movies and watched Star Trek Into Darkness, of course. I also finished another one of the many books I'm currently reading. Typical Sunday for me.
Here are my scraps. Cuttings and used glue sticks I threw away at the end of the night.

The Great Gatsby
It was one of those days. I woke up and thought, "hey, I feel like wearing a dress today." So I did. With some black tights. And my converse, of course. Hair braided. Work was fun. Kids were happy. I was happy.
This week has been Teacher Appreciation Week. So we teachers got lots of yummy goodies. Delicioso. Manapua. Apple Napples from Zippy's (I didn't eat any of these though because I don't like them.) Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars. Fudge. Cocoa Puffs from Liliha Bakery. Yummy. Tummy.
After work I went out with my friends to the movies. Guess what we saw. The Great Gatsby. Oh my goodness! That was seriously amazing. I was not expecting that. I was visually stunned. So colorful. So beautiful. The camera panning. The little details. Down to the various colorful patterned pillows that Gatsby sat on while Nick and Daisy were dancing. The music. Jay-Z. Beyoncé. I love how they took current songs and 1920's-fied them. Crazy in Love, as it played when Gatsby was bringing the flowers under the many umbrellas to Nick's home. Gatsby was literally "crazy in love" with Daisy. I mean, every thing he did was out of love for Daisy. What he thought she'd want. What he envisioned for his future. He created his entire world just for her. So hopeful. So enraptured by all that he remembered of her. All of his dreams. Disillusioned. I liked how they played up the clock scene. Gatsby fumbling nervously like a little boy. Shaky shyness. I now understand why they also had a 3D version. I felt like I was flying at some points in the movie. Soaring over the city. I loved the written words. And how it snowed typewriter letters at one point. Snowing letters! So different. So fun! The letters dissolved. And flowed. Gatbsy's parties. They looked so fun. I love all of the outfits! The dresses! The head pieces! Gorgeous. The glitter. The fireworks. His mansion was humongous. Fast driving. The slow motioned parts. So delicate. This movie had so many different aspects that added up to amazingness. So much going on. The contrast between the gray "slums" and the colorful "exotically rich" lifestyles. The significance of the green light. The way that it felt word for word out of the book. For the most part at least. The actors were marvelous. When I got home, I was still trying to comprehend all that I saw. It's taking control of my mind's eye. I'm still a bit overwhelmed. But in a good way. A really good way.

Iron Man 3: Day 51
Aah! There are cockroaches everywhere in our house! Huge-normous ones! Gross!!! Kaleo the Cockroach Slayer! Haha. But seriously, they freak me out!
Just got home from our Sunday fun day. Church was great. Our current series of lessons is called "Stressbusters." He talked about not worrying. If you fully trust God with your life, then you won't worry. Leave all of your troubles in God's largely more than capable hands. He will handle them. Very comforting. But sometimes very hard to do.
Kaleo, Miss Gayle, and I had a lovely girls day after church. We ate lunch at Dave-n-Busters. Bar Burgers. Yum. Played a game or two while we waited for the theater to let us in. When we tried to go in earlier, the ticket collector told us they weren't letting anyone in yet and to come back later. When we got back from the fun games, we had to wait in line for about 45 minutes. No biggie. We got great sets. You know how we do. Railing. Middle. Oh yeah.
Iron Man 3 was, for me, the best movie of the year so far. I absolutely loved it. So good! My favorite line from the movie was, "Mom, I gotta go. Something magical is happening." It was so funny. The movie was brilliant. I knew it was going to be goo. I mean, it's Iron Man, duh. But I didn't know it was going to be this good. I loved so many little things. The little boy. All of his rambling questions. "Remember what I told you about bullies?" The Mandarin. The army of different suits. Monkeys in a barrel. Pepper taking out that guy. "So violent." The "fireworks," although that was a little sad. The end after all of the credits. That's all I can say while keeping it pretty much spoiler free.

The Help
I finished reading The Help by Kathryn Stockett a little bit ago. Then I watched the movie for the first time. My friend let me borrow the book and DVD. I thought I'd do a combined review. But let me first warn you that there are going to be spoilers. Because, you know me, I love talking about my books! And movies.
The Help by Kathryn Stockett
There is so much that I want to say about this amazing book. I have so many favorite bits and pieces. I hope I can remember them all. I guess I'll get started. Here we go. My favorites.
Favorite supporting character(s):
Mae Mobley. Because she is so cute and sweet. Her innocence is beautiful. I love her relationship with Aibileen. How she looks up to her. How, due to her fact that her mother isn't very good at mothering, she sees Aibileen as her real mama, saying, "Aibee, you're my real mama," and then, "I'm your baby." So cute! As Aibileen says encouraging words to her, "You is kind. You is smart. You is important." Thank you, Mae Mobley, for going on Aibee's pot. And the pot in Hilly's front yard. Coloring the picture you drew of a black you. Secret stories. Listening. Being you. Playing in the mud. Being a good big sister. Loving. You precious little girl.
Celia Foote. She's the best. I love love love her. Bubbly. Loving. Color-blind heart. Sweet as pie. From Sugar Ditch. Appreciative. So kind and warm-hearted to all. Friend to Minny. My absolute favorite part of the book was when that naked lunatic was in her yard yelling about his "pecker pie," and Minny told Celia to stay inside and lock the doors and went out with a knife chasing him. She'd gotten knocked down. Miss Celia comes running out with a fire-poker and starts hitting him. Again. And again. And again. Then she took care of Minny. She saved Minny and went all crazy on that man. I love the relationship between Minny and Celia. Love. And how she and Mister Johnny tells Minny that she will always have a job with them, if she wants it. Oh yeah, I love Mister Johnny too. How he loves Miss Celia so much. Oh, they are so cute together! Beautiful, loving couple. Gorgeous! Swoon.
Favorite quotes (some of them anyways, because there are so much more):
“You is kind. You is smart. You is important.”
“That's the way prayer do. It's like electricity, it keeps things going.”
“Once upon a time they was two girls," I say. "one girl had black skin, one girl had white."
Mae Mobley look up at me. She listening.
"Little colored girl say to little white girl, 'How come your skin be so pale?' White girl say, 'I don't know. How come your skin be so black? What you think that mean?'
"But neither one a them little girls knew. So little white girl say, 'Well, let's see. You got hair, I got hair.'"I gives Mae Mobley a little tousle on her head.
"Little colored girl say 'I got a nose, you got a nose.'"I gives her little snout a tweak. She got to reach up and do the same to me.
"Little white girl say, 'I got toes, you got toes.' And I do the little thing with her toes, but she can't get to mine cause I got my white work shoes on.
"'So we's the same. Just a different color', say that little colored girl. The little white girl she agreed and they was friends. The End."
Baby Girl just look at me. Law, that was a sorry story if I ever heard one. Wasn't even no plot to it. But Mae Mobley, she smile and say, "Tell it again.”
“Today I'm on tell you bout a man from outer space." She just loves hearing about peoples from outer space. Her favorite show on the tee-vee is My Favorite Martian, I pull on my antennae hats I shaped last night out a tin foil, fasten em on our heads. One for her and one for me. We look like we a couple a crazy people in them things.
"One day, a wise Martian come down to Earth to teach us people a thing or two," I say.
"Martian? How big?"
"oh, he about six-two."
"What's his name?"
"Martian Luther King."
She take a deep breath and lean her head down on my shoulder. I feel her three-year-old heart racing against mine, flapping like butterflies on my white uniform.
"He was a real nice Martian, Mister King. Looked just like us, nose, mouth, hair up on his head, but sometime people looked at him funny and sometime, well, I guess sometime people was just downright mean."
I coul get in a lot a trouble telling her these little stories, especially with Mister Leefolt. But Mae Mobley know these our "secret stories".
"Why Aibee? Why was they so mean to him?" she ask.
"Cause he was green.”
“Ever morning, until you dead in the ground, you gone have to make this decision. You gone have to ask yourself, "Am I gone believe what them fools say about me today?”
Main Characters (In three words):
Aibileen. Wise. Mothering. Friend.
Minny. Hilarious. Strong. Self-less.
Miss Skeeter. Dreamer. Driven. Unafraid.
It's movie time!
This movie was excellent. I always say that books are always better than the movie version. That's a given. They go into more detail. Because they can. Because they are a lot longer. Squeezing six hundred pages into 2 hours takes some cuts here and there. But they did an amazing job with this movie. It hit all of the main points necessary to get the message and feel of the book across.
The movie was a lot less sad than the book. It was happier somehow. The movie left out the really downcast parts. Such as Minny's beatings. They mentioned them in the movie, but didn't show it. I like that they did that. Hilly wasn't as evil in the movie as in the book. She was a snobby-nose-in-the-air-holier-than-thou, foot-stomping-tantrum-throwing white lady. Granted, she did terrible things in the movie, but it wasn't as bad at book Hilly. I loved when she was eating the pie in the movie. Classic. Miss Walters, Hilly's mom, played a much bigger role in the movie than she did in the book, that's for sure. She was more of a problem in the movie. She laughed at Hilly eating the pie, she told Hilly to read the book and that it was probably about Jackson. Miss Skeeter's mom was also less bad in the movie. They made it seem like she kicked out Constantine because the other lady told her to. Rather than it being her decision. Speaking of Constantine's daughter Rachel, now that was a big change. In the book she looks white because Constantine is half white from her father. Where in the movie, she is black. In the book, when she showed up at the house, it was the first time Miss Skeeter's mom had ever seen her, rather than in the movie how she was portrayed to be somewhat of a family friend.
I love love loved Miss Celia and Mister Johnny in this movie. They are just the sweetest, cutest couple. Oh my my. I loved the depth of Celia and Minny's friendship in the book, but I love how it was in the movie as well. They looked out for each other. Celia is so bubbly and funny. I just love her. Obviously. But you already knew that. Mister Johnny is so sweet. I love the scene in the movie when Celia cooked Minny a dinner feast and she and Johnny told Minny that she would always have a job there as long as she wanted. True thankfulness for Minny. Oh, I love them. All three of them.
My favorite part of the movie is when Minny is walking towards Celia's house, carrying bags of groceries. Mister Johnny pulls up in his car and asks her if she needs help with them. She glances over at him, and then begins to run away screaming, "Miss Celia!" throwing groceries and dropping them everywhere. And then picking up a fallen tree branch for defense. It was hilarious to say the least. So darn funny. I absolutely love it.
The movie was full of hope and love. Sadness and joy. Cries and laughter. Breaking through boundaries. Overcoming obstacles. Finding your true purpose and reason for life. Knowing who you are. What you can accomplish with a dream. We are all just people.
The Help by Kathryn Stockett
Synopsis from Kathryn Stockett's webiste:
Three ordinary women are about to take one extraordinary step.
Twenty-two-year-old Skeeter has just returned home after graduating from Ole Miss. She may have a degree, but it is 1962, Mississippi, and her mother will not be happy till Skeeter has a ring on her finger. Skeeter would normally find solace with her beloved maid Constantine, the woman who raised her, but Constantine has disappeared and no one will tell Skeeter where she has gone.
Aibileen is a black maid, a wise, regal woman raising her seventeenth white child. Something has shifted inside her after the loss of her own son, who died while his bosses looked the other way. She is devoted to the little girl she looks after, though she knows both their hearts may be broken.
Minny, Aibileen’s best friend, is short, fat, and perhaps the sassiest woman in Mississippi. She can cook like nobody’s business, but she can’t mind her tongue, so she’s lost yet another job. Minny finally finds a position working for someone too new to town to know her reputation. But her new boss has secrets of her own.
Seemingly as different from one another as can be, these women will nonetheless come together for a clandestine project that will put them all at risk. And why? Because they are suffocating within the lines that define their town and their times. And sometimes lines are made to be crossed.
In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women–mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends–view one another. A deeply moving novel filled with poignancy, humor, and hope, The Help is a timeless and universal story about the lines we abide by, and the ones we don’t.
Favorite supporting character(s):

“Ever morning, until you dead in the ground, you gone have to make this decision. You gone have to ask yourself, "Am I gone believe what them fools say about me today?”
“Write about what disturbs you, particularly if it bothers no one else.”
“They say it's like true love, good help. You only get one in a lifetime.”
"We are just two people. Not that much separates us. Not nearly as much as I'd thought.”

Excelsior: Day 46
It's that time of the week again. Library time! I got ump-teen books today. Most of them for Kaleo. Due to the fact that I created a monster and she finishes books like a racehorse now. But I did get some for me, of course. When I got home I went walking for about an hour, whilst doing arm exercises with weights. I walked on the beach for a cool down. There's some pictures down below. I watched Silver Linings Playbook with my sister tonight. Ooh, I liked that movie. I love Jennifer Lawrence. She's amazing.

Church! HOPE. There's hope for everyone. FORGIVE. Everyone can be forgiven. LOVE. Everyone can be loved. I can't do it on my own. The Merrie Monarch winners performed at service today. Awesome Chinky! Beautiful. Ohana group lunch after service. Yum. Yum.
My gym from Ohio called me today offering me a complimentary day pass. I sadly told them I don't live there anymore, otherwise I would love it. Actually, I would still be a member there had I not left. I miss my gym. I really miss it. It was the best. Lifetime Fitness. Oh I miss it so bad! So bad!

Oblivion: Day 37
Oblivion. The state of being unaware or unconscious of what is happening. The state of being forgotten, esp. by the public. [Google definition.]
After church, we went to lunch and the movies. Oblivion. Looking at that definition, I think, yes, that's exactly what's going on in that movie. He is most certainly in a state of being unaware or unconscious of what is happening... and then some. I quite liked that movie. I'll admit I was a bit confused in the beginning. But I understood everything by the end of it. Such an interesting concept for sure.

Family: Day 24
Back on the liquid diet out of fear of my BIG hole. Don't wanna chance it. No. No. No. Squirting with salt water.
Cheaper by the Dozen. :) Just watched that movie. So cute. I love it. I've been thinking lately. About all of the shows, movies, games, life of my childhood and such. And I was like, I wanna watch Cheaper by the Dozen. So I did. This movie totally makes me want tons of kids. Totally. Maybe not twelve... but still a lot. I love kids. Whenever I'd get asked the question, "What do you want to be when you grow up," the first thing that always came to my mind was "a mom." A mom. That's what I long to be. So fun. So cute. Family. I love family. :)

Kiko and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day: Day 14
I am right now, currently, taking part in emotional eating.
I had a bad day. And I realize that having a bad day does not equate to stuffing my face and making my body suffer, you see, right now, I just don't care. I just ate a slice of cheese pizza. One Samoas. (Thank you Girl Scouts.) And presently have a quart of Baskin Robbins Gold Medal Ribbon sitting on the table in front of me, with a spoon. A spoonful of ice cream that I just jutted into my mouth. Yummmm.
Let's start from the beginning. Oh but before I start, let me warn you. SPOLER ALERT FOR THE MOVIE G.I. JOE: RETALIATION.
This morning, soon after my mom left the house I get a phone call. It's my mom. Our car got broken into last night. while. I. was. at. Hot. Yoga. What the heck? The thieves popped open the passenger side door lock, took a bunch of CD's (not all of the CD's that were in the car, just the ones on the passenger side,) the ash tray (with eight pennies! , ) popped open our trunk and took a printer, and possibly other stuff but I don't know what was back there. How did I not know that someone broke into the car?! Well, my purse was still in the trunk. Thank you God. I mean it. I hid it under a jacket close to the back of the trunk. Which is weird because if someone gets into the trunk of your car, they can take anything they want. Hiding things won't matter. But for some amazing reason, in my case, it did. Oh. And the thieves took our car papers. The deed, insurance etc. Why?! Who takes car papers!?!?! So my mom files a police report. But the DMV is closed today (state holiday) and so we can't really do anything about the papers.
So because of all this, I am running late, when for some odd reason I realize that my library books were due yesterday, and I planned on dropping them off at the library on my way to work, but because of all this, I am too late to stop at the library. And yes. I realize that overdue library books is no big deal. But I'm weird. I don't like overdue books. It makes my stomach hurt. Don't judge me. I get to work the fastest ever due to the state holiday and school is out for most. So thankfully I'm not late.
I go into work and start boiling the water for the Matzo Ball Soup we'd be having at morning snack. Man, water takes f o r e v e r to boil. But I get it going. However, I was talking to my mom about the whole car fiasco as I'm adding the water and I put too much. So after adding the packets of soup mix I realize it's too watery. I add in the matzo balls that I prepared yesterday and had in the refrigerator, so they don't get as soft as they should and take longer to cook, and I totally could have just done everything this morning instead of starting yesterday and blah di doo. I end up having to cut all 40 plus balls in half. Divvy it out for the three classrooms. And deliver it. Of course the kids love it and continuously want more until it's all gone. So okay. This soup business doesn't count as a problem. But at the time, I was a little upset that it wouldn't turn out good, and if you know me, you know I'm a perfectionist. Especially about the things I know how to do well. If you are a perfectionist, you understand.
On my break I called the dental office (the one where I'm having my surgery tomorrow) back to ask some questions. Which just made me think more about tomorrow. Which I am very much so NOT looking forward to. The four wisdom teeth that are getting pulled. The pain. To be sedated, to not be sedated. The cost. The painful cost. And because of this, I had less time to read my book during my break. And I just thought more about my teeth. And I can't eat or drink anything, including water, eight hours prior to my surgery. I wonder if I'll be able to eat after my surgery. Who knows.
Later on in the afternoon, my mom pulls me on the side to pray with me. I'm so confused. The paramedics and fire department are at our house because my sister's heart sped-up, or slowed-down, and she called 911. (She was home because they didn't have school today due to the state holiday.) And she would be taken to the emergency room. So my mom had to leave work to go meet her there to see what happened. We didn't understand what was going on. And my nana called crying. And I'm not going to say what happened with my sister exactly. This is the internet. But my mom went to to my sister. To the hospital. And I stayed at work. Confused.
So we were supposed to go to this Good Friday, Easter service thing with my Nana at her church. But because of everything that happened, I was just waiting around the phone to see what the deal was. When I finished work, I saw that my mom had texted me. They were at the hospital still. Waiting for test results. She said to go do something with Miss Gayle and then bring her home to our house, and my mom would take her home. So I was like, okay, no Easter thingy I guess. So I checked movie times. Now, you know I really wanted to see The Host. I also wanted to see G.I. Joe: Retaliation. And The Host wasn't playing for another three hours. And there was a G.I. Joe showing in one hour. So we decided to watch that. It took us a while to find parking. But we found a spot. Got our tickets. Got our seats. And our popcorn. And it was all good. Until. Channing. Tatum. Died! I could not believe it! They killed Channing Tatum. Like, five minutes into the movie. I was so shocked. I couldn't. I just. I was like what?! Are you kidding me?! Aw man, we shoulda just waited the three hours to see The Host! How could they just kill of Channing Tatum?! Gahh!! Now, I will say this. It was a great movie. But THEY. KILLED. CHANNING. TATUM! And in the beginning! My favorite part was when Snake Eyes and Jinx were fighting the guys on the mountain. Now that was pretty wicked. It was so fun to watch. And then, Zartan blew up London! My city! (Today I was looking at places to rent there if I so chose to move there one day. Purely out of curiosity and fun.) And while I knew that was going to happen since it was in the trailer, I was still upset. At least they saved the world. But Duke! Why did he have to die? I don't get that. See, if everything in the movie happened the way it happened, and Duke didn't die, it would have been the best movie ever. But he died. So I don't really think I'll need to watch that movie ever again. That was the stupidest thing to make him die. Channing Tatum. Channing Tatum. But alas, life goes on.
After the movie finished, I checked my phone and saw that I had missed calls and texts from my nana asking me if we were coming to the Easter thingy tonight! I instantly felt so terrible. I didn't know she was still going. I didn't know my mom didn't tell her that we weren't, due to the whole sister thing. I felt bad. And I was like, ah! In my head. I didn't mean to! I texted her back that I was so sorry and such. Man. Mean Kiko. I didn't even know. As Duke died, I was unintentionally letting my nana down. :(
On the drive home I just talked to Miss Gayle. Basically all that I just told you. And I prayed that God would allow everything to go well with my surgery tomorrow. And that I would miraculously be totally good afterwards. So good. No chipmunk cheeks. No pain. No bruises. So that I can go to the Easter service thingy with my nana tomorrow. Because there's another one. Tomorrow. Prayer is powerful. I totally believe that I could wake up from my surgery, walk out of there good as can be. Go watch The Host with my mom, and go to the Easter service with my nana. Yup. I have faith. In God. Please God. Please.
My mom is driving Miss Gayle home. She told me not to feel bad about missing the thing tonight. But I do. That's who I am. I feel bad for things. And I am at my computer venting this all out to you. My sister is in her room sleeping. So I am unable to pester her and figure out what the heck happened today. And I need to know. Goodness.
But I must say. I do feel a whole lot better having vented it all out. It's a release of some sort. And by the way, my emotional eating wasn't so bad. I only had the one slice of pizza, one cookie, and maybe 1/2 a cup of the ice cream.
Still thinking about Channing Tatum. Okay. My favorite movie of his is hands down, She's the Man, with Amanda Bynes. Actually, it's one of my most favorite movies of all time as well. And recently my sisters and I have been watching it all day err day. Well, not factually, it most certainly feels like it. It's the best :) And in that movie, his character's name is Duke. In G.I. Joe, his character's name is Duke. Haha. Just thought I'd say it.
My nana just got home and I went outside to hug her and tell her I'm sorry about not coming and how I felt all bad and everything. And she said no worries. But it was great. And I told her about my prayer for a miracle tomorrow. And about Channing Tatum. And how they killed him off so quickly. She watched it last night with my papa. Why did you do it? Why'd you kill him off? But anyways, now I feel even better. Cuz I hugged my nana. And she's praying for my miracle tomorrow. :)
Maybe my day wasn't soooo bad. But little things, when added up all together, make something seem big. Just sayin'. But there's always balance. So maybe today was so bad for me, because tomorrow is going to be great! Faith! :)

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

Faith! :)

Matthew 6:19-21 NIV
"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

Tired Reader: Day 6
Today I mostly read and slept. A nice chill day. I'm currently re-reading The Host by Stephenie Meyer before it comes out in theaters next week Friday. Which btw I'm so stoked for! I read it back when it came out, about five years ago. So I'm getting refreshed. I love this book. When I read it, it became my favorite book for a while. Until I read... The Hunger Games. Four years ago. And now that has been my favorite ever since. So good. The best. Okay, getting off track. The Host. I'm very excited. I can already see the small changes in how the movie differs from the book, but it looks like it's going to be good for the movie. And can I just say how excited I am about who's playing Jared? Max Irons. He's beautiful. When I saw that he was playing Jared, I was like, "Yes!" Because the leading man can make or break a movie. Just saying. Ok. I'm good.

Happy Leap Day!
Happy Leap Day to you all!
I still think that it's strange that every four years has one extra day. A leap year. I know that it's to keep with the astronomical calendar, but it's still funny to me. What's also funny is the popular tradition in some countries that a woman may propose to a man on February 29. And if the man refuses, he then is obligated to give the woman money or buy her a dress. In upper-class societies in Europe, if the man refuses marriage, he then must purchase 12 pairs of gloves for the woman, suggesting that the gloves are to hide the woman's embarrassment of not having an engagement ring. In Ireland, the tradition is supposed to originate from a deal that Saint Bridget struck with Saint Patrick. This I read on wikipedia. Which reminds me of the movie Leap Year. That was a cute movie. Here's the trailer:
